The Callaway 2 Water District Board will be on the lookout for a new manager in the upcoming months as current manager Tony Cox prepares for his March retirement. Cox joined the water district in October 1983 after working at the nuclear plant.

At a special meeting Thursday, the board expressed its hope to advertise the opening starting in early October and receive applications throughout November. By early December, the board would like a final selection to be made to allow enough time for the new manager to shadow Cox.

The board will meet with Jon Conway, a Columbia-based engineer with knowledge of water system design, to discuss topics surrounding Cox replacing such as the job candidates, length of a probation period for the new manager and if the position should be paid hourly or by salary.

The Callaway 2 Water District board will meet Tuesday, its regularly scheduled meeting.
