Fulton PD investigates shooting at Carver Park, Columbia man airlifted to hospital

A Columbia man was airlifted from a Fulton park Saturday night after being shot, police said.

According to a press release from the Fulton Police Department, officers responded to a report of shots fired at 8:23 p.m. Saturday at Carver Park on Westminster Avenue.

Officers found a 57-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Witness told police it occurred during an attempted robbery, according to the press release. No suspects have been identified. The victim was identified as being from Columbia, but no name was given by Fulton Police. The release stated he was airlifted to a hospital in Columbia. His condition was not listed in the release from the police.
