The Fulton Soup Kitchen will be celebrating Easter a little early with an egg hunt and buffet dinner on April 16.
The egg hunt will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Jim C. Harris Community Center, followed by dinner prepared by Fresh Ideas dining services at Westminster College at 7:15 p.m.
Fulton Soup Kitchen President Anne Erbschloe said the annual event has become a favorite tradition for those who utilize the organization's services.
"It's kind of a nice thing - it's nice for the kids to have something like this," Erbschloe said. "It's just a nice get-together."
She said Fulton High School's Key Club is stuffing plastic eggs with candy from the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri. The group also will organize the egg hunt, which is open to children from all Fulton Housing Authority residence areas.
Erbschloe said transportation will then be provided for soup kitchen patrons to the Westminster dining hall for dinner.
