Gray, Coil ignite unbeaten Ladybirds' romp over Wright City

North Callaway senior starter Jaida Gray tossed a two-hitter and senior designated player Kelsey Coil had three hits and knocked in five runs Tuesday night, fueling the unbeaten Ladybirds' 12-2 EMO blitz of Wright City.

The game was called on the mercy rule after six innings. North Callaway tallied a run apiece in the first and third innings, had a six-run outburst in the fourth, then sealed the victory with two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth.

Gray threw a complete game in moving her season record to 3-0, surrendering two unearned runs while striking out eight and walking one. She has not allowed an earned run this season.

Coil finished 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored as the Ladybirds (12-0, 5-0 Eastern Missouri Conference) broke out for 11 hits. Junior catcher Kaysey Huddleston was 4-for-4 with an RBI, four runs scored and three stolen bases.
