Darrell Campbell, Callaway County executive director of the Farm Service Agency, said Monday Callaway County farmers should be aware of two agriculture program signup deadlines this month.
Campbell said producers who have not yet enrolled in the Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program have until the close of business on Monday, Sept. 16, to sign up.
Mark Cadle, executive director of the Missouri Farm Service Agency, said “it’s easy to get distracted during the harried harvest season. But producers should be careful not to let their DCP contracts and other important Farm Service Agency business slip through the cracks.”
Both the direct payments and the counter-cyclical payments are calculated using the base acres and payment yields established for each farm.
Both payments are administered by the Callaway County Farm Service Agency.
Campbell said any Callaway County producers with a succession-in-interest change that affect an interest in base acres should report the changes to the Callaway County Farm Service Agency office by the close of business on Monday, Sept. 30.
