T-Birds seeking to inject some life into offense in home opener

— It’s troublesome enough that North Callaway’s offense was dogged by what head coach Mike Emmons described as “drive-killers.”

Compounding those issues, Emmons and his Thunderbirds are hoping they won’t be too adversely impacted by injuries to some integral offensive components as they head into their home opener.

North Callaway — looking to get on track after a 31-0 loss at South Callaway in its season opener — hosts Tipton tonight. Kickoff is at 7. The Thunderbirds accumulated just 186 yards of total offense and committed five turnovers last week against the Bulldogs in the annual Callaway Cup game.
