Winning four of their first five and losing three of their last four has solidified the fact that the Fulton Hornets have yet to play their best game, according to head coach Pat Kelley.
“We haven’t put back-to-back halves or games together where we’ve played good offense or defense at the same time,” Kelley said. “And if there’s a game to do it, this is the game to do it.”
The Hornets will try to close out the regular season and secure a home game in their district opener tonight when the Kirksville Tigers come to Robert E. Fisher Jr. Stadium for a North Central Missouri Conference matchup. Kickoff is at 7.
Fulton (4-4, 1-4 NCMC) is all but assured of playing Chillicothe next Thursday in the first round of Class 3, District 6 play. All that’s left to settle are the seeds and the Hornets are in fourth place, leading Chillicothe by 1.58 points for home-field advantage.
