Lady Wildcats’ Kelley finishes 42nd at Class 1 golf championships

— New Bloomfield junior Brooke Kelley shot a 96 in Tuesday’s final round to finish in 42nd place at the Class 1 girls’ golf state championship at Sedalia Country Club.

Kelley — a first-time state qualifier — compiled a two-day, 195 total after carding a 99 in Monday’s first round. Westminster Christian Academy’s Jessica Dreesbeimdieke captured the Class 1 state individual title with a 147 (72-75).

John Burroughs won the Class 1 state team championship by accumulating a 683 (342-341). MICDS took second with a 694 (347-347) and (Sedalia) Sacred Heart came in third with a 717 (353-364).
