Thefts hit Fulton storage facility

Tents, shirts stolen from Callaway Humane Society

A theft from a Fulton storage unit has resulted in about $1,500 in damages to a local nonprofit organization.

Callaway County Humane Society President Sandy Corbet said that members of their fundraising arm - the Friends of CCHS - arrived at the group's storage facility at Doc and Kitty's Storage on County Road 306 Saturday morning to retrieve supplies for its flea market, they found the lock had been cut off.

Inside, they found that several pop-up tents and locked cases containing CCHS T-shirts had been stolen.

"Given the retail (price) and the cost of what we could sell shirts for and the tents, it was probably close to $1,500 once I added up how many we sold and were taken," Corbet said.
