The state-ranked South Callaway Bulldogs made sure they didn't get caught peeking ahead.
Junior tailback Mason Shoemaker ran for two touchdowns and South Callaway's defense allowed just 101 total yards and forced three turnovers Friday night as the Bulldogs blasted Father Tolton 48-0.
With a showdown looming at home this week against undefeated Montgomery County, South Callaway (7-1) rolled up 471 yards of total offense, including 376 rushing. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 6 in Class 2.
"It's a matter of mental fortitude," South Callaway head coach Tim Rulo said. "You have to stay mentally engaged even when the score is already determined. I would like to see a little more of that, but I can't complain."
