Ewing After falling one game short of the Class 2 state semifinals in 2012, the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs made sure that 2013 would be their year.
Senior pitcher Abby Bartley pitched a complete game and belted a two-run home run in the top of the first inning in the Lady Bulldogs’ 15-8 win over the Highland Lady Cougars in the Class 2 state softball quarterfinals on Saturday.
South Callaway (23-4) is in the state semifinals for the first time in school history and will play the winner of Kelly-Willow Springs quarterfinal at 10 a.m. next Friday in Springfield.
