Lady Hornets volleyball team falls to Hannibal

The Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team fell to the Hannibal Lady Pirates in a 25-10, 25-20 North Central Missouri Conference loss Thursday night.

Senior libero Victoria Langley recorded three digs for Fulton (7-14-3, 3-5 NCMC), though head coach Megan Youse complimented Langley on her solid defensive effort.

"She did a phenomenal job in the backcourt calling plays and in serve-receive, which we don't keep a stat that the average person can understand," Youse said. "She just did a really great job on defense tonight.

The Lady Hornets also received three digs and 11 assists from junior setter Catherine Berrey, while senior middle hitter Hayley Tobias and junior outside hitter Madison Droeste posted three kills apiece.

"The second game we got better and were neck-and-neck with Hannibal in that game, and we even had the lead for a bit and that's a big deal for us," Youse said. "Hannibal is a tough team and it's good that we were neck-and-neck with them, and I consider the second game a success for us."
