Lady Wildcats rally for wild nine-inning victory

It was a new feeling for New Bloomfield freshman pitcher Madison Love and her teammates, and she wasn't quite sure how to express it.

"We've never really done this before," Love said. "We're kind of the underdogs, so it's really exciting."

Love drove in the game-winning run with no outs in the bottom of the ninth inning in the Lady Wildcats' 7-6, come-from-behind win over the Lafayette County Lady Huskers in a Class 2 sectional Wednesday night.

New Bloomfield (14-12) moves on to the Class 2 quarterfinals and will play at St. Joseph Bishop LeBlond (23-3) on Saturday. Game time has yet to be determined. Bishop LeBlond beat Brookfield 3-1 in its sectional game Wednesday night.
