Fulton senior Suzie Whitmar had lost her last two matches to Moberly's Emily McCarter headed into Monday's Class 1, Sectional 4 individual competition on Monday at the high school athletic complex. But you wouldn't have known it from how their showdown ended.
Whitmar made quick work of McCarter, dispatching her 6-1, 6-2 to claim the sectional individual championship and qualify for the Class 1 state meet. Whitmar is the first Lady Hornet to qualify for the state meet since the school sent three in 2008.
