Pirates wreck Hornets' homecoming

Boonville throws winning TD pass with no time left

The fourth quarter between the Fulton Hornets and the Boonville Pirates made one thing perfectly clear: whoever scored last would win.

And in a throwdown that saw five lead changes in the final 5 minutes, 15 seconds, that held true. Up by three points with :04.6 seconds left, Fulton gave up a 36-yard touchdown pass from Boonville senior quarterback Jacob Francis to junior wide receiver Austin Hulbert just inside the pylon with no time left.

That left the Hornets with a devastating 42-39 North Central Missouri Conference loss to the Pirates on homecoming Friday night at Robert E. Fisher Jr. Stadium. The loss was the second straight and third in the last four games for Fulton, which is now 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the NCMC.
