Shop with a Cop fundraiser to feature Halloween festivities

Providing Christmas presents for needy children never looked so spooky.

On Oct. 26, emergency responders from across Callaway County will be on hand to host a variety of Halloween activities in the Walmart parking lot from 6-8 p.m. to raise money for the annual Shop with a Cop program in December. Admission will be a donation of $1 or more per child.

In addition to the Fulton Police Department, members of the Holts Summit and New Bloomfield police departments will be in attendance, as well as the Callaway County Sheriff's Department, the Fulton, Holts Summit, and Callaway County fire departments, Callaway County Ambulance District, local businesses and fraternity and sorority houses from both Westminster and William Woods.

Activities for children will include hay rides around the parking lot, a costume contest, bobbing for apples and trick or treating.

"The nicer the weather, the more people come out," said Sgt. Joe Schramm.

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
