Early morning accident leaves woman lost in woods Sunday

FPD, fire department rescue Camdenton motorist

The Fulton Police and Fire departments came to the aid of a Camdenton woman who found herself lost in the woods off of U.S. 54 at the north end of Fulton following a car accident Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to a call at 1:47 a.m. Oct. 6 from Sydney Foor, 50, who was distressed and disoriented after her 1995 Chevrolet Suburban had slid off the westbound lane and into an embankment. She could not provide officers with a location.

Emergency services were able to use her cell phone to locate her in the area of the highway and County Road 210. Officers located her in a log-filled ravine, at which point the fire department assisted in rescuing Foor.

Following a search, officers also found her vehicle about one-half of a mile from where Foor was located.

Callaway County EMS staff checked out Foor, who was not injured during the accident.
