Fall Roundup Day to feature Spirit Riders

For a non-profit organization like CrossWind Ranch, dedicated to helping children grow through horsemanship, the Fall Roundup is a particularly touching and exciting event.

"Ultimately, sharing our story, what we do, and thanking the crowd for what they've done for us and seeing people come and support the kids is the best part," said Sue Crane, CEO.

The Roundup will run from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, and will be held on the ranch. Admission is free, though they will be accepting donations, and there will be a cost for food, which will include a $5 all-you-can-eat chili bowl, hotdogs, walking Frito pie and more.

A silent auction will feature restaurant gift cards and there will also be a raffle for a hot air balloon ride for two.

The CrossWind riders will be performing throughout the afternoon. One rider will be performing jumps, while four others will demonstrate a trail-riding class and another group will do a routine to the song "Fairy Dance."

"They'll wear fairy wings and everything, and tell a whole story," Crane said.

To conclude the event, Crane and some of the older riders will drive in the longhorn cattle from a nearby pasture.

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
