No. 6 Bulldogs ready for ‘good challenge’ in rematch with Wildcats

MOKANE — The state-ranked South Callaway Bulldogs manhandled Montgomery County 12 days ago, serving the Wildcats with their only loss of the season.

South Callaway head coach Tim Rulo is certain his Bulldogs will have to transcend that effort this time around.

Montgomery County — after being humbled at South Callaway 20-0 on Oct. 25 — returns to Mokane tonight for the rematch when No. 2 seed South Callaway hosts the No. 3 Wildcats in the Class 2, District 6 semifinals. Kickoff is at 7.

The Bulldogs (9-1), ranked sixth in the state, advanced with a 54-0 shredding of Lutheran (St. Peters) in first-round play last Thursday night in Mokane, while Montgomery County outlasted North Callaway 24-14 in Montgomery City.
