The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Fulton man Nov. 3 for felony stealing of farm equipment near Calwood totaling to about $11,000, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

CCSO Sgt. Bob Smith said Richard J. Hoover, 28, stole an auger, tractor-type equipment and scrap metal from a residence on the 8000 Block of County Road 108.

Smith added that citizens helped lead officers to Hoover after they called into the office on who was responsible for the theft.

Smith said Hoover scrapped the metal for money.

Hoover is being held on $4,500 bond in the Callaway County Jail. In 2009, Hoover pleaded guilty to felony theft and served three years in prison, according to Missouri case.net.
