Three William Wood players finished in double figures, led by senior guard Katie Scherder's game-high 19 points in the No. 19 Lady Owls' 74-59 season-opening win over Missouri Valley College on Monday night.
Scherder connected on 5-of-11 shots and 2-of-4 3-pointers while pulling down a game-high nine rebounds. Senior guard Andraquay Quinnine finished with 14 points on 3-of-11 shooting and junior guard Destani Stensrud added 12 points and three assists as William Woods shot 44.2 percent from the field.
