Eight arrested on underage intoxication charges

Eight people were arrested by Callaway County Sheriff deputies over the weekend on underage intoxication charges as minors visibly intoxicated.

Two of the arrests came during a traffic stop near Mokane, and the other six arrests were at a party west of Fulton.

Two Steedman area residents were taken into custody at 2:58 a.m. Saturday near Mokane.

The Sheriff's Office reported a deputy made a traffic stop just outside Mokane that led to the arrest of Evan Phillips, 26, of 4664 State Road AA on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Two passengers in the vehicle were also arrested on charges of being visibly intoxicated minors. One of the passengers arrested on the visibly intoxicated charge was a juvenile girl under age 17. She was released into the custody of her parents and turned over to juvenile authorities.
