Blank steps down as CARDV director

Less than a year after taking on the position, Lori Blank has stepped down as executive director of the Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence.

Blank, who took on the position in July 2012, has left CARDV amicably to pursue other positions, according to acting CARDV Board President Sharon Mather.

“We are in the process of deciding how to proceed with that position,” Mather said. “Right now our staff is stepping up to make sure things go smoothly, and then we will be looking long-term at what we need to do.”

Having worked previously as the program director of The Wound Center at Accelecare Wound Centers, Inc., as well as at Planned Parenthood in Columbia, Blank took over the helm from previous director Jerrie Bell. Mather said that both were “dynamic leaders,” and the decision on who would best fill that role hinged on the direction the board felt CARDV needed to head in the future.
