It might not be something to which everyday citizens pay much mind, but it takes a lot of work to keep the City of Fulton's buildings in order and its lawns maintained.

That hard work was recognized at Fulton's City Picnic Friday evening, when Building and Grounds Supervisor Cal Luckett was named the city's Employee of the Year.

"His position allows him to make contact with all of the various departments, and he always strives to go above and beyond what is required," said Director of Administration Bill Johnson on why Luckett deserved the recognition. "He's got an incredibly strong work ethic, and the other employees just like working with him."

Luckett called the award a surprise, but was quick to note that recognition belongs to his staff just as much as it does to him.
