Lady Owls shutout in NAIA opener

— In a matchup where offense was scarce, the Belhaven University Blazers had just a tad more than the William Woods University Lady Owls.

No. 2 seed Belhaven used three of its four hits to manufacture both of the game’s runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Blazers blanked No. 3 William Woods 2-0 in a pitchers’ duel Monday afternoon in the Belhaven Bracket of the NAIA national softball tournament.
