The Fulton Hornets clinched a district tennis triple crown.
Senior Josh Hurt -Â the No. 1 seed - defeated Kirksville's Austin Motley in straight sets of 6-0, 6-0 to claim the Class 1, District 7 individual championship Saturday at the high school athletic complex.
Hurt, the district runner-up in 2012, had a bye in the first round, then defeated Mexico's Jackson Crow 6-0, 6-0, followed by a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Moberly's Tanner Lynn.
Seniors Scott Strough and Phillip Barkho claimed some hardware of their own, grabbing the district doubles title with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Cody Weichelt and Zach Reger of Kirksville.
