A soldier from Callaway County who died in an accident in Kuwait will receive a military funeral this weekend.
Twenty-one-year-old Spc. Charles P. McClure, of New Bloomfield, died May 2 in Camp Buehring in Kuwait.
The Department of Defense says McClure and a soldier from San Diego died in the accident. The two were honored Thursday at a memorial service in Fort Carson, Colo., where they were based.
McClure will be buried this weekend in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Fort Leonard Wood.
McClure joined the Army in 2011 and his first deployment was in February to Kuwait.
Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville, with a military burial at Fort Leonard Wood.

Fort Carson honors 2 soldiers who died in Kuwait
FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Fort Carson is remembering two of its soldiers who died in Kuwait.
Spc. Trinidad Santiago Jr., of San Diego, and Spc. Charles P. McClure died May 2 in Camp Buehring, Kuwait, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Santiago was 25 and McClure was 21.
They were assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, part of Fort Carson's 4th Infantry Division.
The two received a 21-gun salute as mourners gathered for a memorial service for them Thursday at the Army post.
Both men deployed to Kuwait in February. Santiago had previously deployed to Afghanistan.

Soldiers remembered McClure for his smile and his ability to help comrades in times of strife.
