Ladybirds come in second at EMO championships

BOWLING GREEN — North Callaway junior Jaida Gray and freshman Skyler Schmauck provided ample evidence to support being named the Eastern Missouri Conference girls’ sprinter and distance runner of the year, respectively.

Gray won the 200 and took second in both the 100 and 200, while Schmauck prevailed in the 3,200 and came in second in the 1,600 on Tuesday to steer the Ladybirds to a second-place finish at the EMO track and field championships.

In the boys’ division, senior Zac Eads was responsible for North Callaway’s lone victory by triumphing in the discus as the Thunderbirds came in third overall.
