Man accused of stealing TVs from Walmart

A male suspect who's accused of stealing electronic merchandise from a Jefferson City store led police on a chase through Callaway County early Saturday.

The chase began around 3:30 a.m. in Jefferson City after the man allegedly stole two big screen televisions from Walmart Supercenter, 401 Supercenter Drive.

Jefferson City officers chased the suspect car from East McCarty Street onto eastbound U.S. 54 into Callaway County, where Callaway County deputies and Holts Summit police picked up the pursuit. Once the chase arrived in Fulton, police there deployed spike strips to puncture tires on the suspect car.

The car stopped around 3:50 a.m. at Business 54 and Tennyson Road where the driver was taken into custody.
