Sgt. Clay Chism of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office said the joint investigation began on Jan. 3 when Callaway County deputies and a detective from the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department executed a search warrant at Long's residence near Williamsburg.

The search warrant was issued during a Kansas investigation of a felony sexual offense involving a child.

Several items were seized during the search warrant at Williamsburg.

On March 5, Kansas authorities issued a felony arrest warrant for Long as a result of the joint Missouri-Kansas investigation.
