Callaway Youth Poetry Contest set

Theme is "Where I'm From'

Callaway County youngsters have been invited to enter the Callaway County Youth Poetry Contest.

The contest, created to observe National Poetry Month in April, is sponsored jointly by the Callaway County Public Library and the Auxvasse Creative Arts Program.

The deadline for entries in the contest is April 5, 2013.

Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in each of three age groups. The three contest age categories are 5-8, 9-12, and 13- 18.

A brief awards ceremony will be on Thursday, April 25, at the Callaway County Public Library in Fulton.

The theme of the contest is "Where I'm From."

Entrants must reside in Callaway County or attend a school in the county and be between the ages of 5 and 18.

For the 5-8 age group, an adult may help the youngster type or write the entry.

Entries should include the child's name, age and address. The name of the parent or guardian, phone number, school, grade, and teacher's name should also be included. The e-mail address of the parent can be included if available.
