The William Woods University Lady Owls basketball team is going back to the NAIA Division I women’s national tournament for the fifth straight year.
No. 22 William Woods learned Wednesday night it had received an at-large bid to the 33rd-annual national tournament despite losing at Columbia College 91-83 on Monday night in the championship of the American Midwest Conference postseason tournament.
The Lady Owls (25-6) — drawing the sixth seed in their quadrant of the bracket — will play No. 3 MidAmerica (Kan.) Nazarene (30-2) in the first round at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 13. MidAmerica Nazarene is ranked No. 9 in the nation.
