Brick District to hold St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser

The Brick District Association and Beks are hoping area residents will pass on corned beef and cabbage on March 17 and opt, instead, for burgers and bratwurst as they host a fundraiser to support the new organization.

St. Patty’s Day Beer, Brats and Burgers will feature a buffet of brats and hamburgers with all of the fixings — beer sold separately — from 4-6 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. Proceeds from the event will be used to help the Brick District merchant association promote Fulton’s downtown business area. Tickets are $10 in advance at Beks, Center Court and Smockingbird’s or $15 at the door.

“(The Brick District) doesn’t have any money, so I volunteered to host a fundraiser,” said Beks owner Gary Vaught. “I’m just cooking up a bunch of brats and burgers and I’m building a big bar so we can have everything you could ever think about putting on a brat or a burger.”
