Callaway Lincoln Day to feature nationally-known speaker

The Callaway County Republican Central Committee's annual Lincoln Day celebration brings a founding member of the Nationwide Tea Party with Callaway connections back to the Kingdom to talk about values and unity.

Dr. Gina Loudon and former Missouri legislator John Loudon will be the guest speakers at this year's event, which kicks off at 6 p.m. on March 11 at KC Country in Kingdom City.

"They're great conservatives, good Republicans and they're personal friends of mine," committee member Mitch Hubbard said of the decision to invite the Loudons to speak at Lincoln Day.

Gina Loudon is a William Woods graduate, author, syndicated radio host, Fox News contributor and one of the 100 founding members of the Nationwide Tea Party movement. Hubbard said she also was the originator of BUYcott movement, which encourages "support of businesses that share our values" such as Chic-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby in Missouri.

John Loudon is a Westminster College graduate and started in the Missouri House of Representatives in 1994 before being elected to the Missouri Senate in 2000.
