Two injured in weekend accidents

Woman hurt in cycle wreck

Two people were injured in separate accidents in Callaway County during the weekend.

On Sunday at 4:53 p.m. Heather N. Slusser, 34, Centertown, was injured seriously when she was ejected from an overturned motorcycle just south of Holts Summit on U.S. 54.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Slusser was eastbound on a 2008 Yamaha V Star motorcycle along U.S. 54, about 1.9 miles south of Center Street in Holts Summit, when the motorcycle she was driving ran off the right side of the roadway. She overcorrected and the vehicle returned to the shoulder. She then overcorrected a second time, causing the motorcycle to run off the right side of the roadway, strike a ditch and overturn, ejecting the driver.
