FADC suspends EEZ proposal

The Fulton Area Development Corporation (FADC) has decided to suspend its application for an Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) in Callaway County.

Bruce Hackmann, FADC president, said the organization’s board of directors voted Tuesday to suspend the EEZ application process for the Callaway County EEZ, pending the release of new, more current 2010 census figures that could alter or reduce the land size of the proposed zone.

The 2010 census data would replace the 2000 census numbers that the Missouri Department of Economic Development used to determine eligibility of census blocks used in the current EEZ plan in Callaway County.
