Dollar General Center to honor employee for volunteer service

Michael Henry, inventory supervisor at the Fulton Dollar General Distribution Center, is this year's winner of the firm's Serving Others Award.

The Dollar General award is designed to honor individuals who have demonstrated ongoing volunteerism or demonstrated the mission of serving others during a time of critical need in the community.

Henry will receive the award and a plaque during a reception at 4 p.m. today in the Training Room at the Dollar General Distribution Center, 1900 Cardinal Drive in Fulton.

The award also allows Henry to present a $2,500 check from Dollar General to a nonprofit organization of his choice.

Henry has selected the Boy Scouts of America Great Rivers Council as the recipient of the $2,500 gift. Doug Callahan, Scout executive of the Boy Scouts of America Great Rivers Council, will attend the reception today and receive the check for $2,500.
