Former Auxvasse mayor, bank board member retires after 66 years

For the first time in nearly 70 years, Richard W. "Dick" Coil is going to have some time off.

The 85-year-old said he's looking forward to "looking out the window" and arguing with his wife, Mary, about who is going to cook the next meal now that he has retired from the Board of Directors at United Security Bank of Auxvasse in January. Coil had started his career with the bank - back when it was The Security Bank - as a general employee in 1946.

"You did just everything," Coil said. "You did everything that you had to, from stoke the fire to carrying in the coal and sweeping the floor. I loved it. You were a teller, you were a loan officer, you were everything."
