Three people injured in area accidents

Three people were injured in three recent area vehicle accidents.

On Saturday a car driven by Brooke M. Gibson, 18, Holts Summit, was demolished.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred at 12:11 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 50 at Marina Road in Cole County.

A 1993 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Michael L. Dixon, 52, Jefferson City, failed to yield to oncoming traffic when Dixon crossed the median on U.S. 50 at Marina Road, causing his truck to collide with Gibson's 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier.

An occupant of Gibson's vehicle, Elizabeth S. Williams, 16, Hartsburg, had moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.

Gibson was wearing a seat belt but Dixon and Williams were not, the patrol reported.

In the second accident, the patrol reported Susan Weber, 48, Cuba, was westbound at 9 a.m. Thursday on I-70 about two miles west of Kingdom City in Callaway County when her 2004 Dodge Neon ran off the left side of the roadway and struck median cables.

With minor injuries, Weber was taken by Callaway County Ambulance Service to University Hospital in Columbia.

Weber's vehicle sustained moderate damage and she was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

In another one-car accident near Fulton, Christopher L. Herriman, 28, Ashland, was arrested by the patrol for driving while intoxicated, second offense, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway involving an accident.

Herriman's vehicle was westbound on Route F at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday about one-fourth mile west of West 7th St. in Fulton when his 1997 Lexus ES300 crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

With moderate injuries, Herriman was transported by Callaway County Ambulance Service to University Hospital in Columbia.
