Black History Month was observed by William Woods University Friday night at Dulany Auditorium with performances by the Lincoln University Dance Troupe and Mid-Missouri Artful Expressions.

The event was sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs at William Woods.

The Lincoln University Dance Troupe was founded in 1976 by Theressa Ferguson and has continued performing since then with as few as five and as many as 15 members.

The innovative dance performances are versatile and often include such styles as ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical and spiritual.

The group performs in Central Missouri and at other locations around the nation.

Mid-Missouri Artful Expressions is a new group founded by MiCrystal Day and included DaMia Day and Renata Johnson. It is an amateur group featuring vocal, dramatic and dance performances.
