COLUMBIA — Fulton head coach Eric Hudson wanted his squad to “place and score like a team that brought 10 kids” to the 83rd MSHSAA Wrestling Championships.
The Hornets certainly played the part on the first day.
Meanwhile, Cody Pae had a milestone on his mind and took care of the task in quick order to make a strong opening case for a second state title in a row.
Pae produced the 100th pinfall victory of his high school career and was one of six Fulton wrestlers to advance to this morning’s Class 2 quarterfinals after posting first-round wins Thursday at Mizzou Arena.
