Managed turkey hunts set by state conservation agency

Central Missouri hunters have until Feb. 28 to apply for an opportunity to participate in Missouri Conservation Department managed turkey hunts during the spring turkey season.

In addition to 10 hunts open to all firearms turkey hunters, this year's events include a managed hunt for archers, seven hunts for youths ages 11 through 15, and one hunt for people with disabilities.

Managed hunts will occur during the youth turkey season on April 6 and 7 or during the regular turkey season from April 15 through May 5.

Participants are selected by a drawing after eligibility is determined through an application process. There is no charge to participate in a managed hunt. Hunters may apply for only one hunt.
