On Thursday morning students in Amy Hare's Fourth Grade at Bush Elementary School in Fulton were learning to identify the names of all 50 states.

When Principal Lynne Engle announced on the school's public address system at 10:15 a.m. that an earthquake drill was starting, Mrs. Hare calmly told the youngsters it was time for them to drop to their knees, crawl under sturdy tables in the room and hold on.

Bush School and all other Fulton Public School students were participating in the statewide "2013 Great Central U.S. Shake-Out" earthquake drill.

Mrs. Hare's students quickly dropped to their knees, crawled under nearby tables and held on. They were instructed to turn their faces away from windows and to hold the legs of a table so they could stay under its protection if the table should move around during the earthquake.
