For the 53rd year in a row, members of the Auxvasse and surrounding communities will have a chance to catch up over games and food while supporting the community center and local churches and groups here.
The annual Loafer's week in Auxvasse kicks off Feb. 18-23, held each year to bring together people with ties to the area to return, reunite and catch up on the happenings of the past year.
Patrons can enjoy free peanuts, drinks, board games, cards and dominos beginning 8 a.m. each day, with meals being served at 11 a.m.
Community Hall Treasurer Dianna Huls said the event was one of their best fundraisers, rivaled only by the Kelly Miller Circus fundraiser held October 2012.
"It's always a good time," said Huls. "It's one of our biggest fundraisers and the hall needs a lot of updating and a lot of work. Besides rental prices, that's the only income that we get."
