Ashland Senior forward Jacob Haubner totaled a team-high 15 points — No. 4 seed North Callaway’s only double-digit scoring effort — in the Thunderbirds’ 53-43 loss to top-seeded Fatima in the semifinals of the Southern Boone Classic on Thursday night.
North Callaway (12-8), which had its two-game winning streak halted, missed its first nine shots and found itself down 9-0 before finally scoring. Fatima — ranked No. 6 in Class 3 — forced the Thunderbirds into committing 12 of their 23 turnovers in the first half and the Comets led 27-17 at the break.
