At 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29, Offender Jeffery Sapp, confined at the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center, was pronounced deceased at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital.
Sapp, 34, was serving a 12-year sentence on Possession of a Controlled Substance and Attempt to Manufacture a Controlled Substance. He was originally received in the Missouri Department of Corrections Nov. 14, 2001, from Jackson County and released on Nov. 8, 2004, but returned on a parole violation Nov. 29, 2012.
An autopsy will be performed.
