Holts Summit cancels Christmas parade, snow halts other Callaway events

The Holt Summit Christmas parade, scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, has been canceled due to the weather.

Rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow covered Callaway County throughout the day Friday and overnight into Saturday morning. About 2 inches of snow fell in Fulton.

The Callaway Senior Center's Christmas Bazaar scheduled for Saturday in Fulton has also been canceled.

The Callaway Bank's Gold Leaf Club luncheon for Saturday has been canceled.

Some Callaway schools had Friday night basketball games postponed:

  • North Callaway girls will play Boonville for the title game at Centralia at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
  • North Callaway boys will play Southern Boone for fifth place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
  • Fulton High School's basketball games that were scheduled for Friday, including the Wall of Fame induction ceremony, have been postponed to Jan. 10.

The Fulton High School play scheduled for Friday, "A Christmas Story," was postponed until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the Allbritton Theatre at Fulton High School.

The following activities scheduled for Fulton Public Schools have been canceled for Saturday, 14:

  • All practices for basketball and wrestling at FHS and FMS
  • Speech and Debate Tournament in St. Charles
  • FMS Dance
  • FMS girls and boys basketball
  • The Chamber Singers Winter Concert scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday.
