Winter storm to spread across Missouri Friday (VIDEO)

A winter storm will move into central Missouri on Friday causing a wintry mix of precipitation to spread east across the area during the day.

Freezing rain will move into areas along and south of I-70 during the late morning and early afternoon hours causing a minor glazing of ice, though the precipitation may changeover to rain as temperatures climb above freezing during the afternoon hours.

Snow and sleet will begin to accumulate during the afternoon over northeast Missouri and west central Illinois.

The precipitation will continue into Friday night and eventually changeover to all snow over the entire area with additional accumulations expected before ending on Saturday morning. Winter storm watches and winter weather advisories are in effect for the entire area.
