Leadership Callaway returns

Registration deadline Aug. 28 for course

The Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce is looking for 12 emerging business leaders in Callaway County.

Leadership Callaway, a networking and skill-building program hosted by the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce and William Woods University, will begin its 2013-2014 session in September. Applications for the 12 available slots are due to the chamber office by 5 p.m. Aug. 28.

Callaway Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Claudia Starr said the program was designed to provide information on Callaway and the businesses here, create dialogue among leaders and stimulate teamwork and participation with the community.

"It invests people into the community," she said. "It draws them in and makes them feel more a part of the community. To go out and meet the leaders of each business, you just can't replace it."

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
