Hog Wild event set in New Bloomfield

Family event includes dinner, games, auction

Central Missourians are invited to go "Hog Wild at the Square" Saturday night in New Bloomfield.

The family-oriented event - featuring food, music, games, and a live auction - is sponsored by the New Bloomfield Education Foundation to raise money for student-teacher classroom grants to be awarded this fall.

Susie Hinrichs, the foundation's Hog Wild at the Square organizer, said the event will be from 6 to 10 p.m. at the 445 Redwood Drive (Route J) in New Bloomfield.

Hinrichs said last year's Hog Wild event was well attended and the foundation awarded $15,000 in classroom grants to New Bloomfield schools.

"We will need a good turnout Saturday to be able to award $15,000 in classroom grants this fall to New Bloomfield elementary and high school teachers," Hinrichs said. "This event is our major fundraiser for the year and we will need to clear about $7,000 or $8,000 to make our goal of $15,000."

Food will include barbecued pork, potato salad, slaw, baked beans and desserts.

Music will be provided by a disk jockey.
